Oscar Piastri F1 model cars | Oscar Piastri Formula One models

Oscar Piastri’s first season of single-seater car racing was in 2017, when he placed second in the British F4 Championship. He graduated to the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2018, placing eighth in the points, and setting himself up for a stellar period of success. He won the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2019, before winning the Formula One-supporting Formula 3 and Formula 2 championships at his first attempt, in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

Piastri was Alpine’s F1 reserve driver in 2022, before McLaren swooped in and signed him for his debut Formula One season in 2023. The British team didn’t enjoy a competitive start to the year, but then came on in leaps and bounds as the season went on. Oscar scored his first Formula One podium in the Japanese Grand Prix, and then at the next round in Qatar took victory in the Sprint Race before taking the runner-up spot in the grand prix. He ended his rookie campaign ninth in the drivers’ championship.

McLaren also started the 2024 F1 world championship a tad slowly before getting into its stride a few races into the season. After scoring a couple of runner-up finishes Piastri scored his first Formula One victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix, after team-mate Lando Norris finally acquiesced to team orders in the closing stages. The Australian scored another victory in Azerbaijan after pulling off a stunning overtaking manoeuvre on Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.
