Tecnomodel has just confirmed that it will be producing the thunderous Aston Martin AM V8 GT car in 1:18 scale. This car has never been produced in this scale before.

There will be four different replicas available; three of them in the car’s famous Union jack-inspired livery. The #50 car was campaigned by Robin Hamilton and Mike Salmon in the 1979 Le Mans 24 Hours. It failed to reach the finish after an oil leak. Derek Bell and David Preece paired up in the #12 machine in the 1979 Silverstone 6 Hours, finishing 13th after qualifying 11th. The #10 AM V8 is from the 1980 Silverstone 6 Hours, Bell teaming up with Robin Hamilton on this occasion. A rear axle failure put the car out after 20 laps.

Finally, there is a replica of the Gulf-liveried show car that was on display at Goodwood in 2008. These replicas are limited to between just 60 and 150 pieces each worldwide, so are not ones that you can bank on still being available once they have been produced.
