Spark 1:43 Hamilton and Alonso 2018 Abu Dhabi GP Specials Diecast Model Car Review

At about the same time as you are reading this, we are due to receive Spark’s trio of 1:43 specials from last year’s Formula One season.

Two of them are from the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, featuring Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. They both come in special packaging, featuring a larger than usual base covered in circular tyre marks, commemorating the doughnuts that the drivers performed after the race. The Alonso version also comes with a ‘Gracias Fernando’ pit board, his McLaren team acknowledging what could well have been the Spaniard’s last ever grand prix.

The Hamilton special goes under code (SPK6068), while Fernando’s can be ordered using (SPK6069). They cost £64.99 each.

The third special is also for Lewis Hamilton, and is from the Mexican Grand Prix. Lewis finished the race fourth to wrap up his fifth world title. This Spark commemorative replica comes complete with the #HiFive pit board that his Mercedes team put together to celebrate the feat.
