As ERA’s G-Type wasn’t yet race-ready, Stirling Moss did a last minute deal to drive for Connaught in the 1952 Italian Grand Prix. Connaught wasn’t exactly completely on top of things either however, and Stirling along with his team-mates ended up driving their A-Types on the road from Milan to Monza after dark in a last-moment scramble to get to the event on time! At least they had the aid of a police motorcycle escort!

Moss achieved a personal target of outqualifying Mike Hawthorn’s Cooper-Bristol, placing ninth on the grid. In the race itself, Moss was forced to retire after 60 tours of the 80 lap encounter due to suspension problems.

No-one has ever produced a 1:43 replica of this car before. You would definitely be best served to place your order now to guarantee yourself an example.
