Norev Citroen DS23 Pallas 1973 - Green Metallic 1:12 model car Product Information
Norev 1:12 diecast model of the 1973 Citroen DS23 Pallas in green metallic. The Citroen DS was introduced in 1955, and would remain in production for two decades. It was known for its aerodynamic, futuristic body design, and its innovative (but somewhat unorthodox) technology. It set new standards in ride quality, handling and braking, thanks to the use of its hydropneumatic suspension and disc brakes. Power steering and a semi-automatic transmission were also adopted. A fibreglass roof lowered the centre of gravity. The DS23 received a facelift for 1967, with the main treatment being to the car’s headlights. After the re-style by Robert Opron, the machine featured four headlights under a pair of smooth glass canopies. Not only that, but the inner set swivelled with the steering wheel (linked by a cable), allowing the driver to ‘see around corners’. The 1967 model year also saw the introduction of a new fluid for the suspension system, the previous liquid having been found to absorb water, which did not sit well with it. In 1965 the luxury upgrade of the DS23, the Pallas, was launched. Named after Greek goddess Pallas Athena, it included comfort features such as better noise insulation, a more luxurious (and optional leather) upholstery, and external trim embellishments. The following year, a height adjustment feature was added to the driver’s seat.
