Norev Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic 1937 - Black 1:12 model car

Norev 1:12 diecast model of the 1937 Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic in black. Without question, the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic is one of the most beautiful vehicles ever produced. In its nomenclature, the ‘S’ stood for ‘surbaisse’ (lowered) and the ‘C’ stood for ‘compresseur’ (supercharged). The ‘Atlantic’ was a tribute to Jean Bugatti’s friend Jean Mermoz, a pioneering aviator who was the first to traverse the South Atlantic by air. The car’s body featured flowing coupe lines with a pronounced dorsal seam running from the front to the back of the bodywork. It was based on the 1935 Aerolithe concept car that was designed by Jean Bugatti himself. The 57 SC Atlantic’s 3.3 litre supercharged inline-8 engine produced around 200 bhp, enabling the machine to reach speeds in excess of 125 mph. Only four examples were produced.
