Norev Bugatti T35 1925 - Dark Blue 1:12 model car Product Information
Norev 1:12 diecast model of the 1925 Bugatti T35 in dark blue. With an asking price of £169.99, this replica represents really good value for money. The Bugatti T35 pioneered the concept of holistically designing a machine to go racing. This probably explains why it was so phenomenally successful; both with the works team and with a whole host of privateers. In its pomp, the Bugatti T35 averaged 14 race wins per week, racking up over 1,000 victories during its life span. Its most prestigious successes came in the arduous Targa Florio road race, which it won five years running from 1925 to 1929. The fact that it looked stunning also added to the T35’s allure. Designed by Ettore Bugatti himself, the front of the machine featured a distinctive arch-shaped radiator, while there was a tapered tail at the rear; the latter thought to be influenced by Pietro Bordino’s Fiat 804. It was also the first car to utilise cast alloy wheels. Underneath the bodywork, the T35 was powered by an evolution of Bugatti’s three-valve, straight-eight engine first seen on the Type 29. Modifications included a sophisticated roller bearing system that allowed it to rev to 6,000 rpm, and increased its output to 90 bhp. Other innovations on the vehicle included hollowing the front axle to reduce unsprung weight, and passing the springs through the front axle rather than simply U-bolting them together as had been done previously. Norev’s 1:12 replica of the Bugatti T35 measures 30 cm in length, and boasts an impressive level of detail for the asking price, including all of the instrumentation dials on the dashboard, the single rear view mirror mounted alongside the small windscreen, and more.
