KK Lamborghini Islero S 1969 - Light Blue Metallic 1:18 model car Product Information
KK 1:18 diecast model of the 1969 Lamborghini Islero S in light blue metallic. The Islero debuted at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show alongside the Espada, entering production later that year. While both vehicles featured a 2+2 coupe body style, the Islero was intended to be the more visually conservative option. For some reason, it was named after a fighting bull that killed a matador some two decades previously. Marazzi was chosen to construct the Islero's body, mainly as it was founded by a former employee of the now-bankrupt Touring coachbuilding concern, that had worked on Lamborghini projects previously. The design was essentially a rebody of the 400 GT, although it suffered numerous deficiencies in both fit and finish, which were corrected with the later Islero S. The S model that was released in 1969 fetured quite a few styling changes, including cooling vents on both front fenders, an enlarged bonnet scoop, slightly fared fenders and tinted windows. Under the skin, the car featured larger brake discs, revised rear suspension and a revamped dashboard and interior. The engine was also tuned to generate 350 bhp, 25 bhp up on a standard Islero. It could now accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 161 mph. 100 examples of the Islero S were built, bringing the total production run of the vehicle to 225 units. It was famed for its appearance in the Roger Moore thriller 'The Man Who Haunted Himself'.
