The 1900 was the final Alfa Romeo that customers could order as a rolling chassis to send to their coachbuilder of choice for the bodywork. Mario Felice Boano, initially one of the founders of the subsidiary Ghia Aigle coachbuilding company, ended up leaving the organisation to set up his own coachbuilding concern.
