Cult 1:18 resin model of the 1989-1995 Lotus Elan M100 in Calypso Red. The Elan M100 was launched in August 1989, reviving the Elan nameplate after 14 years. Around £35 million was spent on its development; more than any other car in Lotus history. Its design was true to Lotus founder Colin Chapman's original philosophy, with its fibreglass composite body on a rigid steel backbone chassis, achieving its performance through its low weight. It was powered by a 1,588 cc double overhead camshaft 16-valve engine. With 162 bhp on tap, the car could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 137 mph.
