AUTOart Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate - Apex Grey 1:18 model car Product Information

AUTOart 1:18 diecast composite model of the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate in Apex Grey. Aston Martin used the DBS name on three occasions. Aston Martin used the DBS name on three occasions. It was initially used for the grand tourer that was produced from 1967 to 1972. Then, it was used for the DB9-based vehicle that was constructed from 2007 to 2012. Finally, Aston used the moniker on its Superleggera-based machine that was built from 2018 to 2024. The latter replaced the second-generation Vanquish, and oddly was replaced by the third-generation Vanquish! The 2018-2024 DBS took design cues from the DB11, its front bumper featuring a larger centre grille for improved engine cooling, along with two air extractors on the sides cool the brakes. A pair of vents were also added to the bonnet to aid with engine cooling. The engine needed all the cooling that it could get seeing that it was a 5.2 litre twin-turbocharged V12 behemoth! In order to optimise the car's centre of gravity and weight distribution, the powerplant was positioned as low and far back in the chassis as was possible. On the chassis, torque vectoring and a mechanical limited slip differential were utilised for performance more akin to a trackday car. The DBS Superleggera could accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds, going on to achieve a top speed of 211 mph. The final version of the car was named the DBS 770 Ultimate. Increased turbo pressure increased the output of the engine to 759 bhp, while front end of the chassis was made 25% stiffer for sharper handling. A prominent 'horseshoe' bonnet vent, a new front splitter and 21-inch wheels were also added. Only 499 examples were produced, with the build selling out long before production was completed.
