The Ferrari 250 GT ‘Breadvan’ may have been a one-off, but it had quite a varied racing career, taking part in several different events. Tecnomodel has just announced 1:43 replicas of half a dozen guises of the car.

Five of them are from 1962, the year that Ferrari 250 GT SWB chassis #2819 GT was transformed into one of the most recognisable designs in sportscar racing history. The black and red ‘T’ car was campaigned in the Le Mans 24 Hours test day, while the all-red #16 rendition was crewed by Carlo Mario Abate and Colin Davis in the race itself. A gearbox failure put them out.

Abate was the single pilot in the #8 and #193 cars, taking the former to a fourth place finish in the Guards Trophy at Brands Hatch, and the latter for a blast up the Ollons-Villars hillclimb. The fifth 1962 subject is yes, you’ve guessed it, a ‘press’ car!

Finally, there is the silver #482 version that ‘E. Mungo’ (we’ve been unable to ascertain his first name!) drove in another hillclimb; the Coppa Gallenga in 1965.
