Spark 1-43 Perez 2020 Sakhir GP first win special diecast model car review

In the impeccable timing department, we have just received Spark’s 1:43 special commemorating Sergio Perez’s first Formula One victory (scored in last year’s Sakhir Grand Prix). This arrived just as he took his second career win, in the recent race at Baku!

The 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix was certainly a dramatic affair. Lewis Hamilton missed the race after contracting COVID, and it looked like his stand-in George Russell (on loan from Williams) would score a fairytale victory, until a Mercedes pit stop tyre mix-up and subsequent unrelated puncture conspired against him. This then left Perez, who had been last at the end of the first lap after being hit by the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc, to take his first grand prix victory after 190 starts.

Spark’s 1:43 commemorative replica comes complete with the celebratory pit board that Sergio’s Racing Point team put together to praise his achievement. You also get the first place marker board.
