Minichamps 1:18 & 1:43 Hamilton 2020 Turkish Grand Prix Mercedes F1 W11 diecast model car review

We have now received Minichamps’ 1:18 and 1:43 ‘specials’ commemorating Lewis Hamilton securing the 2020 Formula One world championship, in the Turkish Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton once again proved just how good he is in Istanbul that season, patiently waiting for the challenging weather conditions to come to him before stamping his authority on the race. It was a true champion’s drive, which appropriately saw him equal Michael Schumacher’s all-time record of seven world titles.
With these ‘specials’, Minichamps has done a great job with replicating the heavily worn intermediate Pirellis with which Lewis Hamilton finished the race, showing the tread in the middle of the tyres worn away. The paintwork is also finished with a realistic, grimy, race-aged effect.
The 1:18 is limited to just 3,000 pieces worldwide, while the 1:43 is restricted to a mere 2,778 examples. That’s really not very many when you consider how unique the subject is; it’s not every day that an all-time Formula One record is equalled!
