Schuco has announced a 1:18 diecast model of the silver Porsche 550 Spyder known as 'Little Bastard', which was owned by the actor James Dean. After being told the delivery of his Lotus IX had been delayed, Dean traded in his Porsche Speedster for a brand new Porsche 550 Spyder. There are several stories as to why James Dean had “Little Bastard” painted across the rear bodywork. The most likely explanation is that it was a reference to a nickname that he had been given by Warner Bros. stuntman Bill Hickman. This is, of course, the car that Dean was famously killed in. On September 30th 1955, Dean had a head on collision with a student named Donald Turnupspeed, who was driving a Ford Custom Tudor, on Highway 46 in California.Delivery information
