Minichamps has released a 1:12 diecast model of the #2 Ducati 916 that Carl Fogarty took to the 1994 World Superbike Championship. Fogarty’s title in 1994 was the first of his four World Superbike titles. The year before in 1993, he won no less than 11 races, but a tendency to crash at crucial junctures forced Carl into second place behind his arch nemesis Scott Russell. 1994 saw a repeat of the rivalry between Fogarty and Russell. Carl took 10 wins riding the new Ducati 916; Russell also took 10 race victories. The championship went down to the wire at Phillip Island, but this time Carl came out on top. The last Foggy Ducati we received, his 1999 bike, was one of Minichamps’ most successful 1:12 subjects of all time. Obviously this 1:12 replica of Carl Fogarty’s 1994 Ducati 916 is up to the same standard; loads of trick touches, great attention to detail, and all the features you would expect, like removable fairing panels and real rubber tyres.
